Central Assateague Island
Erosional Features
Assateague Island surveys image

This section of Central Assateague Island shows undeveloped beach which consists of sandy stretches with sporadic vegetation in the southern section and northern section of the aerial photograph (seen as red in color). In reviewing the elevation difference survey, there appears to be major erosion along the shoreward edge with minor accretion landward running the entire length of the shoreline.
