The estimates are arranged in tabular form, and the tables are accessible using provided Windows software. See below for instructions on installing the software. SA05 Personal income by major source and earnings by industry SA07 Wage and salary disbursements by industry SA25 Total full- and part-time employment by industry SA27 Wage and salary employment by industry SA35 Transfer payments SA45 Farm income and expenses SA50 Personal tax and non-tax payments The provided software allows displaying and printing of the tables, as well as exporting subsets of the tables to file. SETUP.DOC is located in the root directory of the CD (e.g. E:\SETUP.DOC) Place the SPI CD-ROM, label side up, in the CD-ROM reader Windows 3.1 users: from Program Manager, select 'Run' from the 'File' menu Windows 95 users: select 'Run' from the 'Start' button Type E:\SETUP.EXE where E is your CD drive letter, and press Files will be copied to your WINDOWS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM directories. A program group will be created. Double-click on the 'State Personal Income' icon. A help screen will be displayed, explaining how to use the software. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quick Start Install the software first. See above for installation instructions. 1. Select an SA table or BEARFACTS table from the Table box. 2. Select one or more States by clicking on the Select States button. 3. Select a time period from the Years box. (Not necessary for BEARFACTS table.) 4. Click on the display button or select the "Display" menu item under the File menu. Display Options You need not change all three parameters (table, State, time period) in order to display a new table. You can change one parameter (ex. change SA25 to SA50) and the other parameters will stay the same. If a table is displayed, you can Print that table by choosing "Print" under the File menu. You can print all selected areas for the selected table without displaying, by selecting "Print all areas" under the File menu. Once a table is displayed, an icon (a combination of a map and the US flag) will appear at the top of the screen to the left of the display buttons. This is the "Display one line" icon which allows you to display one line from the currently displayed table for all areas in the Nation. Select one line in the displayed table, then click on that button. A new table will be displayed, showing all States for the selected line. -------------------------------------------------------------------- New line codes for tables SA05, SA07, SA25, SA27 In an effort to present tables in a consistent manner across all divisions of the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the tables provided by the Regional Economic Measurement Division have been restructured. The information contained in each table remains the same. Agricultural services: no change. Mining: line codes changed/order of industries changed. Construction: line codes changed. Manufacturing: line codes changed/order of industries changed*/some line titles changed. *MAJOR CHANGE: Old order was nondurable manufacturing by industry followed by durable manufacturing. New order is durable manufacturing by industry followed by nondurable manufacturing by industry. Transportation and public utilities, and Wholesale trade: line codes changed. Retail trade and Services: line codes changed/some line titles changed. Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate: line codes changed/some line titles changed. Government: line codes changed/detail added for some years. New lines for SA35: The transfer payments table has three new lines that show some of the detail underlying the medical payments line.
