DPLA IND - Metadata Mapping Tool

Metadata Mapping Tool

About the Metadata Mapping Tool

The DPLA IND Metadata Mapping Tool is based heavily on the Sheet Music Consortium's Metadata Mapping Tool, which is adapted from Emory University's Metadata Migrator software package. The Metadata Mapping Tool allows museums, archives, libraries and other cultural heritage organizations to make their locally stored records available for sharing through the DPLA IND Service Hub to DPLA following the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH).

Collection managers are now able to map their records with the help of the Metadata Mapping Tool into MODS (Metadata Object Description Schema), DC (Dublin Core) and QDC (Qualified Dublin Core) to create OAI-compliant XML records. The resulting OAI-ready XML file can then be shared with the DPLA IND Service Hub for data harvesting.
