Earth Science: The Earth's Interior [motion picture] Indiana U Audio-Visual Center

Indiana U Instructional Support Ser 1971
Brief Annotation:
Shows the methods scientists use to obtain knowledge about the earth's interior and explains that this information is limited because the interior cannot be directly observed. Observes seismic, gravitational, magnetic, and thermal observations which have caused scientists to conclude that below the earth's crust is a plastic-like mantle and beneath this a liquid core which creates a magnetic field. Considers the possibility that the earth's center may be composed of extremely hot, dense, solid materials.
