These recent images depict changes in ocean turbidity and SST that were induced by hurricane Danny. Hurricane Danny was a category 1 hurricane for two days. (July 18-20)


Ocean Turbidity

The turbidity in the after image shows a large increase in the Mississippi Delta region and offshore. An edge of a large signal appears to emanate offshore of Mobile Bay, Alabama (hidden by clouds).

Sea Surface Temperature

The after and difference views reveal an overall cooling throughout the entire image area. Some of the most intense cooling occurred to the right of the hurricane track.
