ROLLISON, WILLIAM DEWEY: 1897-

The son of Jesse and Charlotte Benham Rollison, William Dewey Rollison was born on July 1, 1897, in Bloomfield, Ind. He earned the LL.B. degree in 1921 and A.B. degree in 1924 from Indiana University and the LL.M. degree from Harvard University in 1930. He married Edwina Latimer. Rollison was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1919 and the Alabama bar in 1925. He taught law at the University of Alabama, 1922-30, and the University of Notre Dame, 1930-63. He joined the faculty of Samford University (Birmingham, Ala.) as distinguished professor of law in 1963. In 1949 he received the Lay faculty award for distinguished service to the University of Notre Dame.
