NOLAN, ALAN T.: 1923-

Alan T. Nolan was born on Jan. 19, 1923, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Val and Jeannette Covert Nolan. He received the A.B. degree from Indiana University in 1944 and the B.L. degree from Harvard Law School in 1947. On Aug. 26, 1947, he married Elizabeth Titsworth and they had five children: Patrick, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, and John. Following his first wife's death, he remarried. During 1947-48 Nolan was a law clerk for Judge Sherman Minton, U.S. Court of Appeals ( Chicago ). In 1948 he joined the law firm of Ice, Miller, Donadio, and Ryan ( Indianapolis ), becoming a partner in 1958.
