At the beginning of the Civil War she was living in Missouri , and her earliest writing was concerned with anti-slavery and rebellion trouble in that state. In 1862 she moved to Madison, Ind., where she became an active contributor of poems, short stories and articles to newspapers and periodicals.
She was elected vice-president of the Western Association of Writers in 1889 and served as secretary in 1890. She died in 1893.
