BOWLES, JANET PAYNE (MRS. J. M.): ?-
Mrs. Janet Payne Bowles , member of the faculty of Shortridge High School, Indianapolis, was born in Indianapolis and graduated from Shortridge High School. For a time she studied piano in Boston, then married J. M. Bowles of Indianapolis , founder of the magazine, MODERN ART. She became interested in metal jewelry and began to teach its design, metalsmithing and pottery-making.
