BOOKWALTER, JOHN WESLEY: 1837-1915.
Born in Rob Roy, Ind., in 1837, John Wesley Bookwalter was reared on a farm and taught in the country schools. He married a daughter of James Leffel, manufacturer of turbine engines, and became his partner and later principal owner of the business. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the governorship of the state of Ohio. A resident of Springfield, O., Mr. Bookwalter was the owner of a famous art collection.
