BOOK, JOHN WILLIAM: 1850–?
John William Book
was born near Starlight,
Ind., on Oct. 21, 1850. He was the son of
William and Mary Engel Book, emigrants to
Clark County, Ind., from
Germany
in 1846.
John William Book was educated in local schools, St.
Meinrad's Academy and St. Joseph's
College (Ky.). He was ordained a priest of the Roman Catholic Church in
1873 and later had charge of churches in
Rockport and Cannelton,
Ind.
