BANTA, NATHANIEL MOORE: 1867-1932.
Nathaniel Moore Banta , son of Henry and Mary Jane Robinson Banta, was born in Rensselaer, Ind., on Dec. 3, 1867. He was educated at Valparaiso University, National Normal School (Fenton, Mich.), and the University of Chicago. From 1890 to 1906 he taught in the public schools of Indiana and Illinois, from 1906 to 1921 he was a trade agent in Chicago for subscription book publishers, and from 1921 until his death on Feb. 5, 1932, he was editor and manager of the publication department of A. Flanagan & Company, book publishers of Chicago. Besides the titles listed, he adapted, edited and compiled dozens of books for children.
