INDIANA LEGISLATURE.
IN SENATE.
MONDAY, February 17, 1873-2 o'clock p.m.MORNING SESSION.
he Lieutenant Governor, the Hon. Leonidas Sexton, took the chair, and directed the reading of the journal of Saturday's proceedings, pending which -
On motion by Mr. Brown, the further reading of the journal was dispensed with.
Mr. Brown then said: Mr. President, the wife of the State Librarian is dead, and to be buried this afternoon. It seems to me, Mr. President, it is right and proper for the Senate to adjourn for some time that Senators may think proper. I therefore move that the Senate adjourn till tomorrow morning.
Mr. Sarnighausen. Mr. President, I see that the paper of to-day says the funeral is to be at two P. M. to-morrow.
Mr. Brown. That is a mistake. The funeral is in progress now.
The motion to adjourn was agreed to.
And so came an adjournment till half past nine o'clock to-morrow morning.
