THE GOVERNOR'S RENT.
Mr. WILLIAMS, of Union, submitted the following resolution:
RESOLVED, That the Governor be requested to lay before this House the amount of money he has drawn per annum, under the act of February 25, 1865, providing that he may draw a sum not exceeding five thousand dollars, in lieu of a residence provided for him by the State.
Mr. OSBORN proposed to amend, so as to furnish the statement to the Committee on Gubernatorial Mansion.
Mr. BUSKIRK opposed the motion, saying that he presumed the Governor had drawn the amount of the appropriation, and could not see that it was a proper subject upon which to ask for information.
The amendment was accepted, and so the resolution was adopted.
Mr. HIGBY submitted a resolution that the Doorkeeper procure and furnish each member with a copy of the already published Soldiers' Home report for 1867 and 1868.
Mr. PIERCE, of Porter, inquired whether the reports referred to can be procured without having additional copies printed.
He was informed that they could be procured.
The resolution was adopted.
