ELECTION FOR TRUSTEES FOR STATE ASYLUMS.
Mr. CULLEN. It appears that we have gone through with an election recited in the journal, and as I suppose the Senate has control of its minutes like a court over its docket, I move to strike from the minutes all that refers to the election of directors or trustees of the State Asylums. I propose to introduce a concurrent resolution similar to the one adopted by the House of Representatives the other day, that we go into the election to-morrow at two o'clock.
The LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. Would it not be as well to move a reconsideration of the vote.
Mr. CULLEN. I move to reconsider the action by which these gentlemen were elected.
The LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. The joint rules require concurrent action of both Houses in the election, and as the joint rules were not printed with the Senate rules, that fact was overlooked by mistake. Will the Senate consent that the entire action with reference to the Trustees of the Benevolent Institutions shall be reconsidered?
It was so ordered.
