PETITIONS.
Mr. RANDALL presented the petition of W. W. Hartwell, and others, citizens of Noble county, asking for compensation for damages sustained on account of the construction of the Feeder dam at Northport; which was referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. FORD presented the petition of S. W. Holmes and others, for an appropriation of $22,000 for draining a dam on the Muscatatack. in Jackson county, to reclaim swamp lands; which was referred to the Committee on Swamp Lands.
Mr. GROVER asked and obtained leave of absence for Mr. Roberts for this day.
