Mr. CONNER, by leave, introduced a bill (252), to provide for the maintenance of plank roads, where they have been sold by the judgment of any court; which, under a dispensation, was read by title the second time, and referred to the Committee on Corporations.
Mr. BOBBS introduced bill (253), to amend section 3 of an act to prevent the distruction, or the injury of animals, or the distruction of human life by railroads, approved May 11, 1852; which was read by title the second time and referred to the Judiciary Committee
Mr. SHOEMAKER introduced a bill (254>, supplemental to an act to provide for a more uniform mode of doing township business, approved February 18, 1859; which was read the first, second, and third times, and passed by yeas 40, nays 3.
Mr. SLACK presented a petition from 200 citizens of Huntington county on the subject of the Wabash and Erie Canal; which was referred to the Committee on Canals and Internal Improvements, without reading.

Mr. March's (117) to amend secs. 238 and 241 of a law reform act, approved June 18, 1852, and to provide for the examination and taking the deposition of parties as witnesses in civil actions and proceedings, was passed by yeas 26, nays 16.
Mr. Wallace's (119) to amend section 5 of an act concerning the partition of land, was passed by yeas 41, nays 0.
Mr. Bennett's 120, failed - yeas 20, nays 24.
Mr. Line's 121 was recommitted.
Mr. Wier's (122) supplement to the State Prison act, approved March 3, 1855, was passed by yeas 38, nays 4.
[Mr. SLACK, by leave, introduced a bill (255), to provide for the application of any surplus that may remain in the hands of the Auditor of State after the redemption of the circulation of any bank, or banking association where such bank or banking association has received on deposit money belonging to the State, and has failed to pay the same; was referred to Senators Heffren, Slack, Conner, Steele and Cobb.]
Mr. Blair's (127), to amend sections 18, 25, and 26, of an act regulating the apportionment of real estate, approved May 14, 1852, was passed by yeas 40, nays 4.
Mr. LINE, from a select committee thereon , returned his bill (121), to protect exhibitors of articles or animals at agricultural fairs, and to punish offenders against certain rules of agricultural societies, recommending passage with an amendment
The report was concurred in, and the bill passed by yeas 36, nays 2.
Mr, WAGNER, from a select committee, thereon, returned Mr. Conley's (99) to provide for the protection of wild game, with amendment, recommending passage.
The report was concurred in and the bill failed under the operation of the previous question - yeas 18, nays 27.
Mr. SLACK, from the select committee thereon, returned his bill 255, recommending passage.
The report was concurred in and the bill passed by yeas 34, nays 10.
Mr. Green's 128 failed - yeas 8, nays 36.
Mr. Bennett's (129) declaring the having carnal knowledge of insane women a felony: was passed by yeas 43, nays 1.
Mr. Cooper's 130, was laid on table.
Mr. Green's (132) for the protection of the Sabbath, and repealing an act of the same title approved February 28, 1855; was passed by yeas 33, nays 9.
Mr. Craven's (136) for the recovery of damages from any officer of the State who shall illegally charge, demand or collect more than is legally due him as fees: was passed by yeas 43, nays 0.
Mr. Gooding's (138), fixing the salary of State Librarian, and dispensing with the assistant and a clerk, was passed by yeas 37, nays 3.
Mr. Cobb's (139), for the protection of side walks in unincorporated towns or villages, and prescribing punishment of persons injuring or obstructing the same, failed to pass by yeas 24, nays 13.
Mr. KINLEY, by leave, introduced a bill (256), donating $500 out of the State Treasury for the benefit of the State Scientific Association.
