Mr. KINLEY, from the same committee, returned the claims of Henry M. Graham and Jonathan Barrett, recommending allowance.

Mr. HILL, from the Committee on Agriculture, returned his bill (57), authorizing township trustees to establish ditches and locate water courses in certain cases for the benefit of Agriculture; recommending its passage. The report was concurred in and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
Mr. BLAIR, from the Committee on County and Township Business, returned Senator Hef- page: 138[View Page 138]-fren'sbill (70) supplemental to the County Prison Act of May 27, 1852, [authorizing County Commissioners to erect workhouses]; recommending indefinite postponement.
On motion by Mr. HEFFREN, the report was not concurred in, and the bill was referred to a select committee, which is made to consist of Senators Heffren, Conner and Hamilton.
Mr. STEVENS proposed the following as instructions to this select committee:
"Amend by allowing all persons imprisoned on the charge of crime, to work under the provisions of the bill, providing they signify their desire to do so."
On Mr. HEFFREN'S motion the proposition was referred to the committee.
Mr. STEELE, from the Committee on Banks, returned his bill (69) to prevent the circulation of the withdrawn currency of the State Bank of Indiana; recommending its passage. The report was concurred in and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
Mr. ANTHONY, from the State Prison Committee, returned Senator Hill's bill (61) to amend section 3 of the State Prison Act of February 5, 1857; recommending its passage. The report was concurred in and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
