AFTERNOON SESSION.

Mr. STILES AFTERNOON SESSION.The SPEAKER announced the following members (on the part of the House of Representatives) of the joint select committee on the subject of geological survey, viz: Messrs. Smith, of Perry; Treadway, Stanfield, Dobbins, Davis, Harrison, Dougherty, Branham, Wildman.

Mr. SHULL moved to reconsider the vote of this morning rejecting the Senate's resolution to authorize 600 copies of Drapier's Legislative Reports of the proceedings and debates of the present session,

Which motion was laid on the table, on a division - affirmative 38, negative 27.

RESOLUTIONS.

By Mr. TURPIE. Inquiring into the pro-priety of requiring Railroads to be fenced.

By Mr. GRIFFIN. Inquiring into the amount of the Swamp Land Fund on hand and chargeable to Lake county.

By Mr. HAMILTON, of Wayne. Claims for the specific appropriation bill to behanded in ten days before the adjournment of the session.

By Mr. MERRIFIELD. Directing the principal clerk to deliver the journals of the House to the Secretary of State. Rejected - yeas 44, nays 44.

By Mr. HARNEY. To consider the Temperance bills next Tuesday at 2 o'clock, in Committee of the Whole.

By Mr. MURRAY. Inquiring into the expediency of selling the Governor's Circle, in the town of Indianapolis.

By Mr. GIFFORD. Inquiring whether supervisors should include persons of color (who are residents of the State and not otherwise exempt) amongst the number of those who are to work on the highways.

By Mr. BOWMAN. Inquiring into the expediency of amending the 34th section of the act for opening and vacating high ways,approved June 17,1852.

By Mr. ROBINSON. Inquiring into the least amount of bail which should be required of persons charged with felony. Rejected.
