BFC Resolution on Diversity (Amended and Adopted 04.05.16)

Be it resolved that:
• the EPC shall, in 2016-17, explore the addition of an enhanced diversity requirement to the General Education requirements;
• the DAAC shall write policy in 2016-17 to increase both retention and recruitment of underrepresented faculty of color, and work with the Provost, the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and the associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity to locate additional resources and to consider more creative uses of our existing resources for recruitment and retention of such faculty;
• the BFC hereby recommends that the Provost and other administrative officers work actively to increase diversity of staff, particularly in RPS and CAPS;
• the BFC hereby recommends that the Office of Admissions and the Office of Enrollment Management work to enroll Pell Grant recipients at the same rate as peer institutions, that is, 30%, without raising net tuitions costs for such students.
