Indiana lost this game 10-12.

According to Charles Trantella (a 1989 graduate of Tufts) "The two African-American men [on the Tufts University team] were William Foster Brown and William Edward Morrison...I believe William Brown is the player running in the right side of the photograph, as other photos of Edward show he had a lighter complexion than William. At the time of the game, William Brown was a Tufts graduate student, having earned his D.M.D. from Tufts Dental School in the spring of 1916, whereas Edward Morrison was a 2nd year student in the Tufts Dental School. ...At the time, it was very rare for professional medical and dental students at Tufts to join a varsity athletic team, given the demanding curriculum of those programs, but obviously William and Edward made it work! Edward Morrison eventually earned his D.M.D degree from Tufts, then went on to coach football at Howard University in Washington, D.C. for a few years."
