The plane was to leave at 10am taking with it the first airmail out of Bloomington. The destination was Indianapolis where the mail would be transferred to regular air routes. The plane returned from Indianapolis at 4:40pm the same day with the first delivery of airmail to Bloomington.

The outgoing mail contained 4,865 letters, some of which were mailed by collectors back to themselves. The outgoing mail was flown by pilot Jack Harrington, manager of the Bloomington airport.

The incoming mail weighed 43 pounds and consisted of letters & films, and was flown by John P. Hedrick of the National Guard.

According to articles in The Indiana Daily Student it appears both flights stopped in Martinsville as well.

The flights were part of National Airmail Week.
