description:

This image appears on page 343 of the 1951 Arbutus yearbook.

This image also appears on page 19 in the October, 1950 Alumni magazine. The caption reads, "Up an' at 'em- Eight of the nine leading candidates for the 1950 Indiana cross country team begin a strenuous workout over the hilly Hoosier course. Seven meets, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association's annual event, are on tap for the Crimson harriers. Runners are (left to right): Jack Hagan, George Branam, Jack DeNora, Bob Eggleston, Dick Buehling, Cortie Wilson, Roy Whiteman, and Bob Dellinger. Stu Templeton, a sophomore hopeful, who may see Varsity action, missed this workout. Coach Gordon Fisher, beginning his eighth season as Hoosier track coach, has formed his Varsity squad around a three-letterman nucleus from last year's squad that won three dual meets, the Big State meet and finished third in the Western Conference title chase."
