description:

The sale of "Hoosier Hoopla" was first advertised on the back cover of the May 1975 edition of the Indiana Alumni Magazine. The advertisement reads, in part: "LeRoy Neiman sooner or later HAD to paint the INDIANA HOOSIER BASKETBALL TEAM...He has captured the glory of this season...Faithfully reproduced from the original oil painting is a superb full color offset lithography print (24"x32") in a numbered, signed limited edition of one thousand. Mr. Neiman has PERSONALLY SIGNED each print, and he desires that the series be initially offered to INDIANA ALUMNI and FANS. This is an exclusive edition which can never by repeated as the original plates have already been destroyed...Prints will be available for pick-up or mailing April 20, 1975...PRICE $100 per print..." Prints were available through a company named "Questar Incorporated".

Two nearly identical advertisements appear on the back covers of the December 1975 and April 1976 editions of the Indiana Alumni Magazine. Both editions state a price of $125 per print, but the April 1976 edition also makes the statement "NOTICE: Any prints remaining after May 1, 1976, will be two hundred dollars."

Another advertisement appears on the back cover of the February 1980 edition of the Indiana Alumni Magazine stating this is the "FINAL OFFER" and that prints sold before March 1, 1980 will cost $350 and any prints sold after that date will cost $500.
