Centennial of the first classroom building on the Seminary Square campus
This image scanned from page 7 of the August 5, 1922 edition of The Indiana Alumnus. The caption reads, in part: "...special exercises last spring to help celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the construction work on Indiana University's first building, which was begun April 17, 1822. Dr. Bryan is shown...turning the first spade of earth for the placing of a tablet upon the plot which the old building formerly occupied...The tablet was placed at the spot which marked the entrance to the chapel on the south side of the building.
