IU campus postman, Joe Neill
This image scanned from page 7 of the March 3, 1922 edition of The Indiana Alumnus. The article about Neill states that at that time he had worked as a Bloomington postman for 21 years, in part: "No football hero or well-known 'good fellow' is greeted with more enthusiasm, or is more sought after by homesick students than Joe as he makes his daily rounds of the campus. No one is known to more students than Joe...Residence Hall, for sheer bulk of mail, leads all the houses on Joe's route, he declared. About 250 letters are delivered there daily...Joe likewise distributes mail to the Student Building and a few other campus buildings...From 350 to 400 copies of dailies are delivered...each day..."
