Cartoon by Chic Jackson re: the 10th Street Fieldhouse (The Wildermuth)

image number:

description:

Accompanying this cartoon is an April 11, 1928 letter from Chic Jackson to President William Lowe Bryan and Mr. Cravens. It reads, in full:

"Now, that was a happy thought - - the brick - - and no doubt you gave little thought to the fact that it is a blond brick.

As custodian for Golduh's gifts, I might add that whether I come in the class of 'gentlemen prefer blonds," or not, I admit that I prefer blond bricks, and a blond brick from the new I.U. field house is a double achievement.

Perhaps, you do not know it, but I have several bricks (all red ones) of other significance aside from being ordinary confetti for Golduh.

With Golduh's thanks, I will add my appreciation for this mark of your attention. May it bring good luck to the new field house and its legion of sponsors. Most sincerely, [signed] Chic Jackson"

Following the typed portion of the letter, Jackson has written a post script in ink. It reads, in full: "My tardy acknowledgment is due to the fact that I am on the jury in Judge Chamberlain's Court and it takes so very much time [signed] C"
