1922 Baseball team leaving for Japan
An un-cited newspaper article in the scrapbook of Ruckelshaus reads, in part: "More than 3,000 persons...gathered at the Monon station here to bid Indiana University's baseball team God speed on its 14,000 mile journey to Japan. Classes were dismissed at 11:10 and at 11:15 a monster parade, with the University band at its head, started from the Book Nook for the station..."
