description:

This image appears in the December 1942 Indiana Alumni Magazine, page 3. It precedes an article in regards to a story that Life Magazine did about Indiana University. Life ran an article in its issue dated November 23, 1942 using IU as an example of how oblivious university students were to the ongoing war. This outraged students and faculty at IU greatly, saying that the statement was a complete fabrication. Over 1,000 members of IU signed a protest letter to Life's editors and the Alumni Association wrote this article to refute Life's claims.
