description:

Written on the reverse side of this image, in full: "The gentleman holding the newspaper in his lap is John W. Cravens. This picture is not of the Indiana University Press Building but is one of the interior of the Daily World and Weekly Courier Newspapers of which John W. Cravens, for many years registrar and secretary of Indiana University, was editor and owner. The picture was taken in the early 1890's. At the time the Daily World printed the Daily Student of Indiana University."

The arched windows seen at right would seem to suggest that this is the World Courier building in Bloomington. An exterior image of this building can be seen in "The Newspaper Field" chapter (no page numbers) of the publication entitled "Souvenir of Bloomington, Indiana: Seat of Indiana University and Center of Oolitic Stone Belt" (found in IU Archives collection C219).
