The Pimlico Special is a thoroughbred horse race that takes place at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland that started in 1937. The winner in 1939, Challedon (he also won in 1940), was trained by Louis J. Schaefer and owned by William L. Brann (c. 1877 - 1951), an Indiana graduate.
