The Airplane Multiple Control Recorder, or the Pilot Response Recorder, was built by Hans Rudolph and Winthrop Niles Kellogg and patented July 28, 1942 (the application was filed June 27, 1940). The device was created to measure the movement and control of the parts that control an airplane's maneuverability (the rudder, the elevator, and the ailerons). The device was created mainly to be used with students and pilots in training exercises and examinations.
