description:

This image scanned from page 6 of the November 14, 1939 edition of The Indiana Daily Student. The title above the image reads, in full: "NYA Youth Center Near Completion" and the caption below the image reads, in full: "THE ARCHITECTS DRAWING of the National Youth Administration Youth Center being constructed on Third Street is shown here. The entire building is 148 feet long and 90 feet deep. It is composed of three wings, each 24 by 62 feet. The project is sponsored by the Board of Park Commissioners."

The pool at this site may have been built before the building seen here was built as a drowning (Russell Fish) took place at the municipal pool on August 2, 1937. However, it is unclear from the article about the drowning if the pool was located behind this building or if the pool was located elsewhere.
