description:

This image scanned form page 330 of the 1916 Arbutus yearbook. The caption reads, in full: "Bloomington has several fine large cops. These cops are very useful on parade occasions, but of course are not to be expected to descend to such menial tasks as chasing robbers."

The policemen are located at the intersection of Kirkwood and Walnut. They are facing west on Kirkwood. The old National Hotel is the building behind them with the tower of the First Christian Church that was located on the northeast corner of Kirkwood and Washington.
