description:

A caption associated with the image reads: "BLOOMINGTON, IND.: Indianapolis is not the only racing center in Indiana this time of year. Students at Indiana University here hold their own annual racing event, which may never rival the 500-Mile affair at Indianapolis on Memorial Day, but which will continue to be one of the biggest sports events on the campus' spring program. The "Little 500" is a 50-mile race complete with big names, a large crowd, and most important of all - participants... and their bicycles. -- Wilbur Shaw drives the pace car to starting point as competing riders follow close behind."

The vehicle in use is the 1951 Indianapolis 500 pace car which was a Chrysler New Yorker V8.
