description:

The South Hall Buccaneers "TRENDS" team is presented with the first place trophy. The name "TRENDS" refers to a quarterly letter called "Business and Real Estate TRENDS." The letter was published by the Peoples Federal Savings and Loan Association of Peoria, Illinois. Arthur Weimer, then Dean of the IU School of Business, was connected to the publication and was able to secure sponsorship for the bicycle team from Business and Real Estate Trends, Inc.

South Hall is now part of the Ralph L. Collins Living Learning Center.

A file with some correspondence between Weimer and Wells and some issues of "Trends" is located in the IU Archives reference reading room under "Little 500 - 1951 "Trends" Team"
