The caption reads, in full: "The Participants in the Reproduction of an Incident Taken from the Pageant of 1916" The painting in the background by Edwin Howland Blashfield is titled "Alma Mater". It was a gift to Indiana University from William Lowe and Charlotte Bryan in 1924. Currently (2018) it is on display outside the Memorial Room of the Indiana Memorial Union.
