title: | IU Power Plant |
---|---|
image number: | P0022599 |
description: | Image scanned from the original glass-plate negative. At extreme left can be seen a portion of the old Assembly Hall which sat where the parking lot is today (2014) directly to the east of Owen Hall. The building at center is IU's third power plant followed by IU's second power plant at extreme right. The two power plants stood where the hotel portion of the Indiana Memorial Union is today (2014). This image was shot from an approximate point directly to the east of Kirkwood Hall. The view is to the north/northeast. The fact that the new power house at center does not have smoke coming out of its smokestack may indicate that the power house has not yet become operational and thus making this photo shot sometime during the winter of 1904-1905. |
