The caption below the image is a quote from page 14 of the work which reads, in part: "That first business was nothing more nor less than a little two-story planing mill, thirty by forty feet in size, with a small shed in the rear housing a single wheezy donkey engine that would work well only when the wind was favorable. The plant was not even large enough to saw its own logs." Image depicts the company circa 1868.
