He came from Bethany in his junior year then played on the freshman squad. 'Lefty' covered the outer garden quickly and pulled many impossible catches during the season."

Indiana University's first observatory and transit house can be seen in the background. They were originally located on Dunn Meadow, but were later moved to where they are seen here (approximately where Woodburn Hall is located today (2012) ).
